I've lost my unrelenting love for Whedon shows over the years, but since Galactica I can only think of Firefly as 'cute and funny, but not the greatest thing ever'. The show's ruined me completely, I fear. Extremely complicated, organic, emotional character arcs! Political intrigue that translates to our current situation in fascinating ways! Consequences! Theology!
But, yeah. It could've been good - had it not been a J.J. Abrams show. He seems to have a knack for teetering on the edge of 'good concept, bad execution' and 'pretty good show on the whole'... usually falling into the former category eventually.
