Firefly tainted everything for me. Haven't seen the new Galactica yet, but I think it's the same mechanism. Once you saw the light of What Could Be, you sneer at everything that's just not that good.
It's just... I love the Setting. Stranded on an island. Normal (*coughcough*) people in extreme situations. It could have been so very, very good...
