I hate money issues.

The student fees are here. Next January I'll have to come up with 500 Euro for the following semester. 500 Euro is the amount of money I live a month on. Including rent. So this hurts, this hurts very bad.
I don't think any german university anticipates the demands the german students will make now. I just have to remember how art history is organized, no, wrong, is NOT organized in cologne. I won't have any of that crap if I pay for it. I'm not a bummer student, the last grade I got (just yesterday, for the paper about internet art that I worked on for three days) was an A (german 1,00). I'm hard working, intelligent and motivated. And I still won't finish my studies in the required years.
I'm so fucking angry.
And the Man tells us, financing our studies is so easy, just get a students credit and start your life with a 10,000 Euro debt for only just 7%! Fuckers. As if any of us will get a job that easy. As if we aren't told to start families as early as possible. On debts? No, Sir, sorry, Sir, I think I'm off to New Zealand.

...komme mit.

I'm coming, too!

The difference is that the german system is only just adapting to tutition fees, and there is hardly any "support-infrastructure" implemented at the moment. No chance for a stipendium or anything. There WERE no tuition fees when most of us started studying, so none of us has a back-up plan. The future is looking very bleak for a lot of students coming from economically weaker families, especially if you keep in mind that the german recession is getting more and more vicious every week, and it's tough to get a job if you havn't either studied, or completed an apprenticeship in some job or other...

Out of curiosity, which school are you at?

500 is a lot.
Congrats on the A.
Send me a postcard from NZ. Can I visit you? *dogeyes*

So? There are people dying from hunger all over the world, is that supposed to make me feel less angry about my smaller situation? I must admit I'm really annoyed by things like that here. I may have got it easy comnpared to the famished or even to you. That doesn't mean that my worries are worth less.
Am I lamenting about how I can't stand my life and stuff? No, I'm not at all, I love my life and I know how good fate was to me. That's not an argument against me protesting against something unfair.
And just because this unfairness is often found it's not less unfair.
I'm sorry, but education is, indeed, a right. There's the point in Germany that everybody shall get the same chances as everybody else, regardless of their parents' wealth. And that is just not provided anymore. And I *want* this to be provided (and, since this is a democracy and I'm SO not alone in wanting this, what I/we want is relevant). We are a very, very rich country and this is, in fact, totally possible. Especially since everyone can see this administration throwing money into the chimney.
So don't "Oh please" me.

The difference is, of cause, that until recently, higher education WAS a right in germany. It's called "Bildungsgleichheit".

Especially considering that we wouldn't HAVE this situation if the federal goverment of the time had ordered one obsolete Eurofighter less...

Wow, 500 Euros. That's much more than we have to pay... It's for one term, right? I'm not too happy about my student fee either. I know I'm spoiled but my mom told me I have to pay it myself this time. I actually thought I could save the money for the 1-month Interrail with my sis in fall. SIGH.

And uni not being organized... sounds familiar to me. I think I spend 1/2 of my time just running around trying toi figure out where to get something, where to register for a class, where to hand in my papers... It really sucks!

*off to New Zealand with you*

.... "Whatever." ?!
Oh, sorry, I thought we were having a conversation.
